SADDLEWORTH RUSHCART 2026

Good Morning Residents,

Today, your local Saddleworth & Lees Neighbourhood Policing Team have adjusted our shifts so that we can be out in the community and join residents in celebrating the Saddleworth Rushcart Festival.

For anyone unfamiliar with the event, the Rushcart Festival is one of Saddleworth's most treasured traditions, dating back centuries. The festival celebrates the area's rich heritage with a decorated rushcart procession, Morris dancers, bands, and community gatherings as it travels through several villages across Saddleworth. It is a fantastic opportunity to bring people together and showcase the unique character and history of our communities.

We will be attending the various locations throughout the day, and we'd love for you to come over and say hello. Our team will be on hand to meet residents, answer any questions, and enjoy the festivities alongside the community. Please note that we may occasionally be called away to respond to incidents elsewhere in Saddleworth and Lees, but we'll do our best to be present throughout the event.
